CALMING & MOTIVATING ENVIRONMENT
Espacio provides the opportunity to spend a month or more in a beautiful space designed for artistic pursuits with access to a myriad of cultural and educational activities. If you are a visual artist, writer, musician, or are passionate about any other creative work, Espacio offers you a supportive environment to focus on what you love doing.
Espacio’s initial project is Casa Clavel, a beautiful, modern house in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. We have renovated the interior of the house to suit the needs of our artist guests, including a 250 square foot studio with room and facilities for 2 artists. Casa Clavel also offers comfortable and well-appointed living, cooking, and eating areas, plus two patios and a covered rooftop terrace with 360-degree views of the city.
Casa Clavel is located in the vibrant San Antonio neighborhood of San Miguel, within easy walking distance to restaurants, food shops, a swimming pool and spa, and Centro, the town center of San Miguel. The traditional neighborhood of San Antonio includes many artist studios and the Instituto Allende, a visual arts school and exhibition space. San Miguel is considered one of the most beautiful and cultural cities in Mexico with a thriving arts scene and many festivals.
The minimum rental period is 1 month, but longer rentals (up to 1 year) are welcome. Here is our pricing:
OCCASIONALLY CASA CLAVEL IS AVAILABLE FOR SHORTER RENTALS OF 1, 2, OR 3 WEEKS. EMAIL US FOR PRICING.
*A 50% deposit is required at the time you make your reservation. 60 days before your rental date, your balance is due, along with a refundable security deposit of $250. Stays less than 1 month require full payment at the time of booking.
Jerry McLaughlin and Rebecca Crowell are professional artists who founded [E]spacio in 2022 as an expansion of their already thriving, ongoing collaborative ventures. Since 2015 they have worked together as authors, instructors, and as the founders of Squeegee Press and Cold Wax Academy. Espacio is a further commitment to their ongoing mission of education and support for artists.
